Handmark Partnership With Vindigo Adds Location-Based Application to Popular Palm OS Consumer Software

New software titles now available through major retail chains

Handmark(tm), the company that offers more packaged software for Palm OS(r) devices than any publisher in the world, and Vindigo(tm), the leading developer of personal navigation applications for mobile devices, announced that the Vindigo application will be included with every retail software CD shipped by Handmark.

Handmark customers now have easy access to Vindigo's application with information on the best places to eat, shop and play in major cities.

The Vindigo application turns Palm OS" devices into personal navigators, helping people discover what to do and where to go in major cities. Vindigo's proprietary technology platform enables leading content publishers including The New York Times, Tribune Interactive, Washington Post, and Zagat Survey to deliver their location-based information to mobile device users.

This announcement coincides with the release by Handmark of 10 new packaged retail titles for Palm OS devices. New titles include:

-- GolftracPRO, the original golf score and wager tracking

software for the Palm OS. GolftracPRO has been updated for compatibility with the latest version of the operating system as well as for newer devices from both Palm, Inc. and Handspring. GolftracPRO is available at retail and online for $19.99(a)

-- Pocket Money(r) ($29.99(a)) a complete financial management tool that can export files to desktop versions of Quicken(r), and Microsoft Money(r).

-- Travel Assistant ($19.99(a)) includes the most comprehensive itinerary manager for handheld devices, and it automatically updates the built-in Palm OS Date Book.

-- Essentials UtilityPak ($19.99(a)) bundles four applications including MobileSafe Account Manager for safekeeping of financial, online and other user ID and passwords.

-- There are also four new Handmark game titles: Las Vegas Casino ($14.99(a)), Super Solitaire 15 ($19.99), Crossword 365 ($14.99(a)), and Hearts and Spades ($14.99(a)).

Handmark publishes two of the Palm platforms leading applications: MobileDB(tm) and Four.Zero(tm). MobileDB has been downloaded more than a half-million times and offers more online content than all competitors combined; it's available as the lead application in the Handmark retail title List Anything: MobileDB ($29.99(a)). The Handmark Student Assistant ($19.99(a)) retail package features Four.Zero, the leading coursework management software on the Palm platform for secondary and higher education students.
