JAMDAT Mobile's Gladiator Battles Through 1,500,000 Sessions

Company Receives WAPPY Award For Best Game Site

JAMDAT Mobile, a leading provider of middleware technologies and services for the creation, distribution and monitoring of mobile entertainment applications, today announced that its flagship title, Gladiator, has logged over 1.5 million sessions since its October 2000 launch.

The game's success has resulted in top placement on the wireless internet decks of Sprint PCS, AT&T Wireless and Qwest Wireless, and has also helped the company to win a 2001 Cellmania WAPPY Award for "Best Games Site" at the March CTIA Wireless 2001 show.

"Gladiator is the ultimate multiplayer combat game for the mobile internet - it is simple to learn, yet has considerable depth and replay value," said Mitch Lasky, CEO of JAMDAT Mobile. "Every day over 40% of our game sessions are initiated by repeat customers. We've clearly demonstrated that the mobile phone is a valid platform for addictive game play, and that JAMDAT's middleware platform can scale to meet the growing demand for mobile entertainment."

In its first six months of release, Gladiator has attracted over half a million unique visitors - representing more than 25% penetration of the aggregate active mobile internet users reported by carriers currently distributing the game - and has generated over 7 million minutes of airtime usage. Its tremendous success has helped wireless gaming to become spoken of by analysts and press as the likely "killer app" of the mobile internet.
