Nortel Networks, Game Park Sign Wireless Internet Gaming Alliance

Focused On Delivering First Profit-Generating, Dedicated Wireless Handheld Gaming Solution

Nortel Networks (NYSE:NT)(TSE:NT.) and Game Park Inc., a leading player in Korea's gaming industry, today signed a co-marketing agreement to work together to deliver the industry's first dedicated wireless handheld gaming solution designed to create profitability for wireless operators. Nortel Networks and Game Park will collaborate in the deployment of wireless gaming solutions.

Nortel Networks is addressing one of the industry's leading obstacles -- operator profit -- by leveraging its expertise in IP (Internet Protocol) and optical networking, and alliances with best-of-breed applications and device providers, to deploy 2.5G and 3G business models that wireless carriers can deploy quickly and profitably.

The alliance between Nortel Networks and Game Park will focus on providing the industry's first solution for supporting real time, highly-interactive, multi-player gaming over a wireless device. The solution is expected to be the first to support a high-quality gaming experience comparable to desktops and consoles. The solution will include support for classic, role-playing, action and adventure games in a mobile environment. Nortel Networks and Game Park will provide wireless handheld game device solutions initially to Asia Pacific wireless operators, for 2.5G and 3G technologies.

"This alliance with Nortel Networks is a significant milestone in advancing the development and availability of dynamic, interactive handheld gaming solutions for Asia Pacific markets," said Mr. Dae-Wook Jeong, chief executive officer, Game Park, Inc.

"We are delighted to be aligned with Game Park to develop anytime, anywhere Wireless Internet game offerings," said Peter MacKinnon, president, Wireless Internet Solutions at Nortel Networks. "One of the single most important priorities facing wireless operators today is the deployment of profitable next-generation services. Our strategy of aligning with best-of-class applications and device providers is designed to synchronize the delivery of gaming and other next-generation services to help carriers deploy these news services quickly and profitably."

"Korea is the fourth largest Internet market in the world, with Koreans ranking among the highest users of mobile phones and Wireless Internet services anywhere," said John Giamatteo, managing director, Nortel Networks Korea. "It is only fitting that Nortel Networks team with a leading wireless gaming developer from Korea to develop wireless gaming offerings that are designed to maximize return on customer relationship and profitability for operators."
