Norway's largest internet portal Scandinavia Online Norway (SOL Norway) and OpenMobile have signed an agreement that enables SOL Norway's customers access to a wide array of applications and content for their mobile phones.
The SMS-based mobile value-added services (MVAS) will be provided through OpenMobile's network. SOL Norway's customers will view the new mobile services at the portal's front page and can subscribe them using their mobile phones. Services include SMS-based applications and content, e.g. chat, love calculator, picture messages and the world famous Trivial Pursuit game.
"We are continuously seeking new services and developing our portal. OpenMobile brings us new and exciting mobile applications and content, giving our customers new ways of personalizing their mobile phones via the Internet", says Mr. Erich Nökling of SOL Norway.
"SOL Norway is the biggest portal in Norway with over 411.000 unique visitors daily. We are proud to able to widen their services with mobile content. The use of SMS-based mobile services is growing rapidly world-wide and large portals like SOL Norway are the most efficient channels of distribution for them", says Mr. Carl de la Chapelle of OpenMobile. "We also feel that this is a very good way for our content providers to get their applications to reach their end users".
