Pocket-IT and Telenor portal djuice.no has announced their cooperation on location-based services. Pocket-IT will be an enabler for location based services for content providers under the djuice.no portal. Telenor secures partnership with the leading provider of location based services in Norway. Djuice.no and Hvor.no will be the main portals for new location based information services and a new marketing channel that will help customers find and navigate to the nearest service offering or retailers.
Location based services is a high priority area for Djuice.no and is expected to grow quickly in the years to come. When Telenor Mobil launched its first automatic positioning service for mobile internet April 19, Pocket IT was selected as the first company to launch services with them on the portal Hvor.no. The partnership comprises a major marketing campaign to profile the services that are available and new services that will be launched in the near future. The cooperation also comprises a partnership for developing positioning services for mobile internet on next generation mobil internet - UMTS.

Hvor.no ranks today as one of the most used services on Djuice.no. Hvor.no offers mapping, routing, information on local services, events and weather forecasts - all based on the mobile being positioned automatically. Hvor.no was launched march 2000, and new services and functionality ahs been added ever since.
