Sierra Wireless And Wireless Partners Showcase Wireless Technology In 12 U.S. Cities

Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR)(TSE:SW.) and other wireless technology partners announced today their participation in the 12-city Mobile Theater road show.

Sierra Wireless will be giving local business decision makers an end-to-end perspective of everything they need to know about mobile computing, along with fellow WirelessReady(TM) Alliance members such as Casio, Compaq, GoAmerica, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft Corp. and NetMotion Wireless.

"Sierra Wireless is pleased to be taking the wireless message on the road and making ourselves available to IT professionals and business decision makers in 12 major metropolitan areas across the United States," said Mark McMillan, vice president Marketing for Sierra Wireless. "Many of them have a lot of questions about wireless technology and how it can improve the productivity of their employees, but until now they haven't had an easily accessible, comprehensive resource of which to ask those questions. With the Mobile Experience Tour, we hope to provide information on a variety of levels for anyone who is interested in wireless technology and what it can do for their business."

The Microsoft Mobile Experience Tour is full of the latest server, wireless and device technology, and will be stopping at 12 locations across the United States between May 3 and July 1, 2001. The Tour has a number of events/tracks targeted at different audiences and levels of knowledge. The Executive Wireless Deployment Workshop is targeted at CIO-level executives and will address the changes, challenges, and opportunities in extending enterprise data, e-mail, and line-of-business applications to your mobile workforce via a new generation of mobile devices. The Executive Briefing on Wireless & Mobility is for IT professionals and others involved in the evaluation and deployment of mobile devices. It will address topics such as security and wireless management, as well as the platform and development roadmap to getting business applications onto mobile devices. There will also be two events centered around great tips on how to use your Pocket PC and other mobile devices to increase your effectiveness at work and at play.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity on this tour to demonstrate and highlight the benefits of Pocket PC wireless solutions from great wireless partners such as Sierra Wireless, whose products are always a hit," said Derek Brown, product manager for the Mobile Devices Division Microsoft.

Joining Sierra Wireless on the Mobile Experience Tour are AvantGo, Casio, Compaq, GoAmerica, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft Corp. and NetMotion Wireless, and other wireless companies, a number of which are members of the WirelessReady Alliance. The WirelessReady Alliance is an organization of wireless industry companies founded by Sierra Wireless in December 1998, with the mission of accelerating the rate of mobile computing adoption through the delivery of complete and compelling wireless data solutions.
