Top Gun Makes It's Wireless Game System Debut Through an Exclusive Worldwide Licensing Deal Between Viacom Consumer Products and nGame

nGame Recreates the Aerial Combat Experience On Wireless Devices for Players in a Race to Become the Top Gun

Today nGame and Viacom Consumer Products announced they will bring Paramount Picture's movie classic Top Gun(TM) to cellular phone and Persona Data Assistant (PDA) users.

Top Gun will be available Summer 2001 through select nGame's carriers.

"Top Gun demonstrates how effectively our games can translate the excitement of a movie into a game on cellular phones. We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Viacom Consumer Products on this movie classic and have high hopes that the Top Gun game, just like the movie will become a classic," said John Brimacombe, CEO nGame.

In nGame's multiplayer version of Top Gun, players fly F14's and compete in dogfights using missiles and cannons to blow their opponents out of the sky. Players choose from their favorite Top Gun characters and need to use skill and cunning to get the enemy into their sites and achieve a lock-on.

"We are delighted to be working with nGame to create action packed wireless games for one of our most important franchises. Viacom Consumer Products look forward to celebrating the 15th anniversary of Top Gun with the launch of these exciting games," said Pam Newton, Vice President Licensing and Marketing for Viacom Consumer Products.

Modeled after the leader board in the film, players are ranked after each round of fighting with the goal of becoming the top gun. The higher your rank, the more maneuvers you are taught by the Top Gun instructors. There are a total of 18 maneuvers.

"Top Gun is a modern movie classic, and the property is an excellent fit to the current generation of wireless users. Once again, nGame will be "pushing the envelope" of current wireless technology, to offer users the most compelling gaming experience on the cellular phones," said Alex Green, Vice President Business Development nGame.

Two play modes are available on Top Gun: Quick Play and Career Mode. Career Mode is geared toward the long-term player. Wins and losses are saved so that players can advance in ranking toward their ultimate goal of becoming the Top Gun. In both Quick Play and Career Mode players can choose to play against other Top Gun students who are other players on the network, Enemy MiGs, or Top Gun instructors.
