Impulsesoft, a leading provider of Bluetooth solutions for the PC and the embedded markets, and U S Software, a Lantronix (NASDAQ:LTRX) company, today announced the integration of Impulsesoft's Bluetooth Protocol Stack iBTStack(TM) into U S Software's SuperTask(R) Real-Time Operating System, and USNET(R) TCP/IP stack on ARM7TDMI platform.
By integrating three complex technologies, a real-time operating system, a TCP/IP stack and an embedded Bluetooth protocol stack, the two companies will enable original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to reduce their development cycle of devices capable of communicating wirelessly over the Bluetooth protocol. The partnership between Impulsesoft and U S Software has already yielded results with a Bluetooth LAN Access Point being delivered for a Japanese customer in early 2001.

Impulsesoft's iBTStack(TM) is a portable implementation of the Bluetooth protocol that is optimized for size and speed for specific applications including Gateway, LAN Access and PDA or handheld applications. As iBTStack(TM) is pre-ported to U S Software's RTOS SuperTask(R) and USNET(R) TCP/IP, developers can easily and rapidly plug it into their applications, eliminating the need to integrate various software components. The application programming interfaces (APIs) provided by Impulsesoft and U S Software to the various layers in the stack and the operating system will eliminate many of the difficulties faced by developers of embedded systems. iBTStack(TM) comes with sample applications to test out the Bluetooth functionality and is fully integrated with Supertask(R) OS and USNET(R) TCP/IP stack.
