5G Wireless Communications, Inc. (5G) (OTCBB:FGWC) is pleased to announce the completion of an agreement to provide a high speed wireless and data network solutions to the Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre together with the Suntec City Management Pte Ltd.
Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre (SICEC) is one of the largest convention and exhibition centers in the Asia-Pacific region. Built at a cost of S$620 million, the Centre was officially opened on 30 August 1995 and is a vital part of Suntec City, Singapore's largest integrated commercial landmark. www.sicec.com
CEO/President Michael Tan expressed "We are very pleased with the final structure of the Suntec Agreement. Under the terms of the agreement Suntec will be provided with a robust wireless broadband data network, and 5G will capitalize on the revenue opportunities generated from such service."
Under terms of the 3 year agreement, 5G will provide SICEC, exhibition organizers, and exhibitors with a wireless broadband data network, this network will provide 5G with a network which can handle hundreds of simultaneous users accessing the system in the exhibition hall, meeting rooms, auditoriums, ballrooms, foyers and pre-function areas and will be managed and maintained by 5G staff who will be located at the facility.
In addition 5G will service the five office tower blocks comprising of 5 office towers totaling over 5.7 million square feet of leasable space. Current tenants include many of the Fortune 500 companies in the Asia Pacific region. Among them are Microsoft, Adobe Systems, BASF, Borland, Compaq Computer, Deutsche Bank AG, EMC Computer Systems, Fairchild Semiconductor, GE Pacific, KPMG Consulting (Asia Pacific), Lehman Brothers, MetLife, UUNET to name a few. www.suntec.com.sg
The network will also service the Suntec Shopping Malls, restaurants and many of the eateries that surround the complex. The infrastructure will allow subscribers of 5Gs broadband network to access the internet anywhere within the network coverage area, enhancing 'e' mobility and productivity www.sunteccity.com.sg Deployment will be conducted in phases over the next 6 months.
