Digianswer Bluetooth Software Suite Rapidly Gaining Widespread Adoption for Bluetooth Software Solutions In the Windows(TM) Environment Digianswer, a subsidiary of Motorola, Inc., today announced a Bluetooth(TM) software collaboration with Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM), delivering a complete system level hardware and software Bluetooth solution for PC original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Combining Digianswer's Bluetooth Software Suite with Broadcom's all-CMOS Blutonium(TM) silicon transceivers, the companies provide a high-performance end-to-end Bluetooth solution for manufacturers of Windows(TM)-compatible desktop and laptop computers. This collaboration between Digianswer and Broadcom will result in a quicker time to market for PC manufacturers and their products with on-board Bluetooth functionality.
The Digianswer Bluetooth Software Suite (BTSWS) enables the Windows platform with Bluetooth capabilities. The solution has been shipping since August 2000 and is today the most robust and proven stack on the market. The BTSWS is compliant to the Bluetooth specification version 1.1 and contains the Bluetooth protocol stack (above HCI), the Bluetooth profiles and an extensive User Interface. The User Interface is highly integrated into Windows Shell and has been designed achieve a high level of usability when using Bluetooth on the Windows platform. The BTSWS is supported by a complete SDK (Software Developers Kit) (http://www.btsws.com) that enables third parties to develop applications, protocols and profiles.
