Finnish band ‘him’ become the first rock band in the world to create mobile entertainment for fans riot-e launches first of its riotpop services

Riot Entertainment (RIOT-E, www.riot-e.com), the global leader in wireless entertainment today announced that it has partnered with Finnish metal band HIM (www.heartagram.com), to bring mobile entertainment to HIM fans worldwide. The deal is the first of its kind, making RIOT-E and HIM the pioneers of mobile entertainment for music fans and widening RIOT-E’s portfolio of exclusive content licenses for wireless entertainment.

HIM mobile services contain HIM ringing tones, icons, logos and picture messages and are currently available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with further rollouts planned for Finland, UK, Spain and France in early July. The services are accessible via HIM’s website (www.heartagram.com) as well as through the RIOT-E website (www.riotpop.com/him).

With over 1 million combined album sales under their belt, HIM have risen to the top of the charts in various European countries and have raked in several awards such as Germany’s music industry’s ECHOs, VIVA TV’s COMETs and Finnish EMMAs. “PRETENDING” – the first single from their forthcoming album “Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights” will be released in Europe in July 2nd, 2001. The album will be released on August 27th.
