Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex Selects Synigent Technologies for Mobile Application Development

Mobile Retail Audit Reporting System to Improve Efficiencies of Business Processes

Synigent Technologies today announced it has been selected by Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex to develop a mobile retail audit reporting system. The application will be used to audit retail store displays and provide information reporting to their largest retail clients.

Synigent Technologies will develop the mobile application for Palm Powered(TM) handheld devices. The reporting system will allow users to collect product inventory counts as well as respond to electronic questionnaires and audits. The application will utilize wireless technology for the mobile transmission of audit data collected at each store. If the wireless signal cannot be detected at the time of data collection, the user can transmit as soon as the wireless connection is detected or when the device is cradled.

"Providing timely and accurate sales management reporting to our retail clients has traditionally been a constant struggle in the consumer products industry," said Stephen Lestyan, vice president information services at Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex. "With the combined mobile application and infrastructure solution designed and delivered by Synigent, we are looking for significant improvement in customer service and reporting, as well as cost-savings in delivering this key data to our largest clients."

The application will allow the user to report the audit data and status to a central database almost instantaneously. This audit data will provide the quality of displays by determining how well the shelves and displays match the appropriate plannogram for the store being audited. In addition, it will provide immediate feedback to sales management at the individual stores, regions and national levels to help determine how well each store has managed product merchandising.

"Our mission is to help companies like Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex cost-effectively deploy leading edge technologies in order to improve their productivity and increase customer service," said Brent Kannady, managing partner of Synigent Technologies. "We engaged with Synchrologic and AppForge to ensure we were delivering the most comprehensive mobile technology available for Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex to better serve its customer base."

Synigent Technologies will utilize Microsoft(R) Visual Basic(R), Active Server Page, and SQL Server for the server-side development of this application. The Palm Powered(TM) application will be developed using AppForge Professional Edition. The enterprise mobile administration, security and synchronization will be configured and developed using Synchrologic's iMobile Suite.
