Motorola and HillCast to Deliver Real-Time Stock Information to Java(TM) Technology-Enabled Handsets

Suite Of Mobile Application Offers Streaming Financial News, Information And Customizable Charting Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and HillCast today announced they plan to provide a suite of mobile financial applications to users of Java(TM) 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME(TM)) technology-enabled handsets from Motorola. These applications will be demonstrated for the first time at the JavaOne(SM) 2001 Developer Conference, June 4-8 at San Francisco's Moscone Center.

This suite of applications streams secure financial data and news to the device in real time, based on the stock symbols the user chooses. The application has a user-definable interface that allows the user to select stock update delivery preferences and stock chart types, including bar charts and line charts. Users can choose the format in which they would like to see their financial progress. Each graphical chart can be customized to display the data in different time periods, such as daily, weekly, or monthly. The solution also includes personalized financial news from major newswires regarding the stocks the user chooses.
