Neomar Announces Support for Research in Motion's New Java-based Blackberry Device

Neomar, Inc., a leader in enterprise wireless management and delivery software, today became the first company to support the newly-announced Java(TM) technology-based wireless handheld device developed by Research in Motion (RIM) and unveiled at the JavaOne conference by RIM and Sun Microsystems. Neomar has developed a version of the Neomar Microbrowser(TM) using Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME(TM)), the core operating system for the new RIM BlackBerry(TM) wireless handheld. The new J2ME-enabled Neomar Microbrowser is available immediately in limited release through Neomar directly, and is being demonstrated at JavaOne.

"Neomar is pleased to announce its support of RIM's Java-based BlackBerry device and J2ME," said William "Butch" Winters, CEO of Neomar, Inc. "Neomar, with our microbrowser and enterprise server, is helping RIM move beyond e-mail and provide enterprise wireless solutions to corporate customers."

The new Neomar Microbrowser for J2ME devices is an integrated component of the Neomar Enterprise Solution, which enables optimized performance of mobile enterprise applications over wireless networks, management of users and devices, and end-to-end secure delivery to smart handheld devices from behind the enterprise firewall. The Neomar Microbrowser for J2ME devices joins versions of the Neomar Microbrowser for all Palm OS, all RIM, and all PocketPC devices.

Rich User Experience and Forward-looking Standards Support

The Neomar Microbrowser for J2ME devices has the rich user experience necessary for successful deployment of enterprise applications, including support for WML1.3, forms, color, new UI controls, advanced table layout, bookmark management, history navigation, and caching.

The Neomar Microbrowser for J2ME is built for future proof deployment, supporting both W3C and WAP standards, including configurable support of WAP or HTTP network and security protocols. It supports over-the-air provisioning, allowing enterprise IT managers to install, upgrade, and support applications to manage their mobile computing environment. The family of Neomar Microbrowsers also supports scripting, cookies, and wireless security standards WTLS and WPKI.
