OpenMobile and PopText to launch new mobile value-added services in Ireland and in the UK

OpenMobile and Irish text message services company PopText have signed an agreement that enables the launch of new mobile value-added services (MVAS) to the Irish and UK markets. The new premium-priced services will

be launched under PopText's brand.

According to the agreement, PopText will act both as a branding and a content provider, bringing innovative SMS services to the two market places (UK and Ireland) through OpenMobile's and PopText's networks.

PopText will first launch MVAS services in Ireland using OpenMobile's mobile applications portfolio and Poptext's networks and brand. After that, the companies are planning to launch services in the UK using a combination of OpenMobile's and PopText's mobile applications and OpenMobile's connectivity with UK operators.

"This is a very important partnership for us. With this agreement, we get to launch our first SMS services in the rapidly growing UK markets and strengthen our role as the leading mobile application and content aggregator. In the future, we hope to be able to collaborate with PopText in the other market areas, e.g. North America and Asia ", says Mr. John Lancaster-Lennox, UK Director of OpenMobile.

"Co-operation with OpenMobile brings new and innovative SMS applications

into our service portfolio and creates new revenue streams. By partnering with OpenMobile, we hope to be able to launch new services continuously in other market areas thus improving our market position", states Mr. Norman Crowley, CEO of PopText.

Founded in June 2000, OpenMobile brings together mobile operators, content providers and companies with strong brands in an open and non-exclusive environment by building a global network to provide mobile

SMS based value-added services, such as games, interactive and interpersonal applications. OpenMobile operates in the key markets of Europe and Asia.
