from Bluetooth Congress Monaco--WIDCOMM Inc., a world leader in Bluetooth software and networking solutions, announced today that it will launch a Bluetooth Communications Software Solution for the Windows(R)-CE operating system platform (BTW-CE). Based on WIDCOMM's BQB 1.1 certified software stack, BTW-CE allows PC OEMs and electronics manufacturers a quick and easy solution for adding Bluetooth wireless technology to mobile devices running on the Windows CE operating system platform.
WIDCOMM's BTW-CE can run on a handheld or palmtop computer and supports a wide range of Bluetooth compliant chipsets, including those from Ericsson, Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR), Philips Semiconductor, and Texas Instruments. Designed for Microsoft Windows CE 3.0, BTW-CE supports the industry leading Windows CE microprocessors. WIDCOMM's BTW-CE includes a full set of development tools and diagnostics that enable simpler integration for shorter time to market. WIDCOMM also provides a wide range of services, from design study and custom development, to BQB certification and interoperability support.
BTW-CE is an extension of WIDCOMM's broad portfolio of communications software solutions designed to Bluetooth-enable desktop, laptop, palmtop and handheld computers, as well as mobile phones and other devices. WIDCOMM has developed specific software packages for embedded, Windows, Palm, and now Windows-CE operating systems. Customers licensing these software solutions from WIDCOMM benefit from the breadth of WIDCOMM's offerings because optimized function is guaranteed across a range of fully-tested and interoperating devices.
