Wireless Knowledge Teams With Kyocera Wireless Corp. to Offer Enterprise Mobility Solutions for New Smartphone

Wireless Knowledge's Workstyle(TM), Anystyle(TM) And Echo(TM) Software Support Palm OS(R) Based Smartphone, Providing Mobile Access To Corporate Data Applications

Wireless Knowledge, Inc., a Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq:MSFT) and QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq:QCOM) company, and Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading innovator of code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless handsets, today announced they are joining forces to offer enterprise mobility applications for Kyocera's QCP 6035 smartphone.

This relationship will allow Wireless Knowledge to demonstrate enterprise-grade mobility applications on the Palm OS based Kyocera smartphone. In addition, Wireless Knowledge will provide custom development services for the creation of wireless enterprise solutions that will utilize the QCP 6035 as a platform for corporate collaboration.

"The Kyocera QCP 6035 smartphone combines a wireless phone with a Palm OS handheld computer -- creating an extremely functional device for extending corporate applications to mobile users," said Peggy Biddison, vice president and chief marketing officer for Wireless Knowledge. "With our custom applications and shrink-wrapped software products, Wireless Knowledge is committed to supporting Kyocera's CDMA handsets by enabling users to remotely access their critical corporate data from this hybrid device."

"We look forward to working with a mobility leader like Wireless Knowledge," said Masahiro Inoue, president and CEO of Kyocera Wireless Corp. "Our Palm Powered(TM) smartphone combines the most advanced wireless technology with the most user-friendly features. Our relationship with Wireless Knowledge will extend the power of this platform by giving corporate customers remote access to their most valued enterprise information."

The Kyocera QCP 6035 smartphone is a trimode CDMA handset with enhanced features, including a built-in speakerphone, voice-activated dialing and a convenient jog-dial for accessing phone settings, contact information and call history. With the Palm OS v3.5 software and 8 MB of memory, the QCP 6035 smartphone is the only wireless phone currently capable of running thousands of applications written for the Palm OS platform. The Kyocera smartphone supports HTML browsers with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to provide security for confidential data -- making the QCP 6035 a robust platform for mobile e-commerce and enterprise information management. The Kyocera smartphone also supports Palm OS web clipping applications and Palm OS based WAP browsers. In addition, users can access corporate or personal email accounts using the integrated Eudora(R) email application.

"We're delighted to see this new implementation for enterprise users," said Alan Kessler, general manager of the platform solutions group at Palm, Inc. "The Palm OS has clearly established itself as the platform of choice for mobile and wireless access."

Wireless Knowledge's mobile business applications -- Workstyle, Anystyle and Echo -- allow enterprise professionals to securely access Microsoft Exchange- or Lotus Domino-based systems and other strategic web-based applications within the enterprise. Workstyle provides business users with mobile access to email, calendar and contacts from any Internet-enabled device, such as mobile phones, handheld computers and wired or wireless laptops. Anystyle software extends those capabilities to wireless devices with offline storage, such as RIM handhelds, Palm Powered handhelds and Pocket PCs. Echo, a high-performance transformation engine, dramatically simplifies the process of creating mobile versions of either new or existing Web-based applications -- rendering information from business critical applications, such as CRM, ERP or supply chain, appropriately for the device making the request.

Wireless Knowledge's professional services will offer development of mobile enterprise solutions specifically for the Kyocera smartphone. These solutions can utilize secure wireless synchronization technology and can also be web based -- utilizing an HTML browser with SSL, WAP, or Palm's web clipping technology. Wireless Knowledge will help enterprise customers define the appropriate application approach based on the company's particular business opportunity and need.
