BroadVision-powered State of California Portal Delivers Personalized Alerts to Wireless Devices

Features Offer Anytime, Anywhere Access to Crucial California Government Information

BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), a leading provider of personalized e-business applications, today announced that the State of California has added a variety of new features -- including wireless notification features, energy conservation resources and an enhanced frequently asked questions section -- to the BroadVision(R)-powered My California State Internet portal (http://my.ca.gov).

The new wireless notification system allows my.ca.gov users to receive personalized alerts via email, cell phone or wireless PDA. Users can easily sign up to receive notifications about a variety of time-sensitive topics including news of impending blackouts, traffic alerts, press releases from the Governor's Office, winning lottery numbers and lottery jackpot alerts. The portal can also be browsed on wireless PDAs (accessible at http://my.ca.gov/wireless) and web-enabled cell phones (at http://my.ca.gov/cellphone). Synchronization channels are also provided to enable offline browsing.

"BroadVision provides us with a scalable e-business platform that supports millions of visitors and makes it easy to integrate new technologies, so we can provide Californians with the leading-edge features they demand," said Arun Baheti, director of e-government for California.

"The State of California is clearly at the front of the e-government pack by providing `anytime, anywhere' access to a huge variety of information and services," said Nancy Mills, executive vice president and general manager of worldwide products and services for BroadVision. "Governor Gray Davis charged the State of California's e-government team with building not just one of the top e-government sites, but one of the top sites, period. They have clearly met that challenge and these new features are yet more proof of California's online leadership."

The new wireless features are made possible by the integration of KANA Connect software with the personalization engine and content database of BroadVision One-To-One(R) Enterprise(TM), which powers the My California portal. This integration allows personalized information to be sent wirelessly to users, based on their individual preferences.

The new "Flex Your Power" energy conservation portal (http://www.flexyourpower.ca.gov) provides citizens with information about California's energy crisis and personalized tips on conserving energy and reducing their energy costs. The site also lets consumers take a self-service, personalized energy analysis that offers energy saving solutions based on their zip code, house type, house size and year of construction.

The new "How Do I" knowledge base helps both novice and advanced users to find answers to common questions about the State of California and the My California portal.
