Motorola Brings 2-Way Messaging to MTV'S ''Real World''

Motorola's Talkabout T900 Makes Noise in NYC on the 10th Season of the ''Real World''

Today MTV begins a special 10th anniversary season of the "Real World," bringing the communication power of Motorola (NYSE:MOT) to this season's cast with a new tool for wireless communication, the Talkabout(R) 2-way model T900, a two-way messaging device that is capable of exchanging text messages with any e-mail address.

The "Real World" is a predecessor in reality-based television programming and has kept fans glued to their television sets for the past decade. Throughout the current season, which begins airing today, viewers can be prepared to witness their favorite "real people" using the power of 2-way text messaging with the Talkabout T900.

Today, Motorola's Talkabout T900 is being used by more than one million consumers, many of them similar to the young and trendwise audience that is watching the "Real World." The cast began talking in text on their pocket-sized devices before taping even began, when all potential cast members were provided with a Talkabout T900. Then the seven finalists were notified of their place on show with a text message sent to their device. The ability to talk without talking has added a new level of technology to this season's "Real World" by providing the cast and crew with some of the newest communication gadgets.

"The Talkabout T900 is currently the most widely used 2-way messaging device among teens and young adults -- a demographic closely aligned with the 'Real World' audience," said Miguel Pellon, vice president and general manager of the Wireless Messaging Division, Motorola Inc. "This is a great opportunity to introduce millions of viewers to the text-messaging trend."
