Project Arena Debuts Mobile Solution

Road Warriors Can Access Professional Services Automation Tool Remotely With Wireless Devices

Project Arena, a leading provider of professional services automation (PSA), today announced the debut of a mobile solution for on-the-road professionals and consultants who need easy, instant interactive access to the tools they use to manage their projects. Project Arena's mobile solution enables Internet access to its software with wireless devices such as mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs), linking users to team contact information, timesheets, and other key application components such as snapshot reports, profiles, and project notes.

"Our artisans are on the road 100 percent of the time with no access to PCs," said Lisa Wieland of Terra Briosa, an artisan plaster firm that does custom work for retail stores such as Pottery Barn and Banana Republic. "Project Arena's mobile solution will help us address the challenges of a `road-warrior' workforce by permitting users to log billable and non-billable work in real-time while at job sites, airports, or anywhere else. And having more timely expense information about our projects will permit us to bid more accurately on future projects."

Sarb Takhar, Project Arena CTO, said, "By using wireless Web service and a mobile phone or PDA, you can tap into the Web from almost anywhere. Now we've added some practical and valuable business tools to the list of things WAP technology can be used for. This promises to greatly enhance efficiencies as it changes the lives of the rapidly growing remote and mobile workforce."

"We are excited about offering our customers another tool for streamlining their professional services business processes," said Demian Entrekin, Project Arena president and CEO. "According to a recent survey by industry analyst group IDC, 61 percent of wireless device users said they would consider using their devices to access software applications, but not all applications are workable in this format. We've developed one that not only works well for remote access but also opens a new door to information that will provide a clear profitability advantage." Project Arena's mobile solution will be available to all customers at an additional cost of $5 per user per month.

Project Arena uses Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) technology, which formats Web data for transmission using Wireless Markup Language (WML). A wireless networked device and WAP support are required for use of this solution.
