Nextel and Darby Corporate Solutions --DCS--Announce Co-marketing Agreement Launching Diplomat Internet-based Vehicle Location Service

Nextel Communications Inc. (NASD: NXTL) and Darby Corporate Solutions (DCS) announced today that the DCS Diplomat(TM) Vehicle Location Service (VLS) is now available on Nextel's nationwide packet data network.

Under a new co-marketing agreement, the companies will work together to help the service trade and trucking industries communicate with and manage transportation fleets to increase customer service and productivity.

The DCS Diplomat application provides real-time vehicle tracking and fleet management tools for a mobile workforce. Fleet operators can also leverage the full range of Nextel services, including Nextel Direct Connect(R), a digital two-way radio feature that supports unlimited communications among users in the same fleet. Other Nextel services include digital cellular, text and number messaging, two-way messaging and wireless web access.

"Nextel provides the premier wireless communications network for applications that track mobile business," said Carl Ashkin, CEO at DCS. "Integrating GPS, Internet-based vehicle tracking and two-way wireless communication over Nextel's network establishes a cost-effective way to know where trucks, drivers and inventory are at any time."

"DCS applications help Nextel customers stay productive from the road," said Blair Kutrow, vice president, product management at Nextel. "Using Diplomat VLS on the Nextel network, mobile workers can take their communication to the next level, updating schedules and managing fleets. These applications help companies better service clients and complete their work more efficiently while on the road."

Responding to the demands of a mobile workforce, Diplomat's wireless communication platforms go one step further than traditional solutions by offering the unique combination of the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE operating system and the powerful 32-bit Intel(R) StrongARM(R) microprocessor.

This configuration and low power management architecture permits wide operating temperature fluctuations typical throughout the continental United States. Diplomat also allows users to develop applications in Visual Basic and add peripheral devices such as bar code scanners and credit card readers, giving users a truly powerful, customizable product.

"DCS recognizes that Nextel business customers are always looking for better ways to manage their mobile workforce," said Blair MacKinnon, Director of Sales - North America at DCS. "Diplomat VLS is a valuable tool that business-savvy companies can use to increase the productivity of their mobile workforce."
