AMAZON.CO.JP NOW OFFICIAL I-MODE SITE

UPGRADED SITE INCLUDES TRUE 1-CLICK ORDERING AND AMAZON ANYWHERE DELIVERS

First 100 customers to subscribe to Amazon Anywhere Delivers, a mobile email service, will receive \1000 Amazon.co.jp gift certificate

Amazon.co.jp (http://www.amazon.co.jp), leading e-tailer of books, music, video and DVDs serving the Japanese market[1], today launched its official i-mode site: http://amazon.co.jp. With this upgraded status, Amazon.co.jp will be a featured mobile commerce destination on the official i-mode shopping menu. To mark this launch, Amazon.co.jp is offering the first 100 customers to sign up for Amazon Anywhere Delivers, a mobile email service that notifies customers of new products and editorial recommendations, a \1000 Amazon.co.jp gift certificate to be redeemed on Amazon.co.jp via any i-mode device.

The new Amazon i-mode site provides many of the same customer features as that of the Website, including recommendations and customer reviews, as well as 1-clicktm ordering, which allows customers to sign in the first time and then order with just one click for each subsequent purchase. I-mode customers have access to Amazon.co.jp full catalog of more than 2.2 million books, CDs, DVDs and videos, and the newly-launched Seattle Mariners Store.

Amazon.co.jp has totally redesigned the gateway page of its i-mode site, making Amazon most popular features more easily accessible to wireless customers, including recommendations, all product search, product categories, and more. Amazon advanced search function dynamically surfaces the most popular products based on past purchases from other customers and the sales rankings, updated hourly, of those products.

Amazon.co.jp i-mode site utilizes Amazon proprietary technology and Amazon Anywheretm platform. Earlier this month, Amazon launched its official KDDI site (http://amazon.co.jp) and announced a new alliance with AT&T wireless in the United States, giving all AT&T Digital PocketNet® customers access to Amazon.com wireless website via their Internet-ready wireless phones.
