BarPoint.com (Nasdaq:BPNT), a leading online and wireless product information service and custom applications developer, today announced it has added The Sharper Image(R) (Nasdaq:SHRP) as a data and commerce partner on its Web site and BarPoint Shopper(TM) service. Currently available at http://www.barpoint.com from a desktop PC or any Internet-enabled mobile device, the BarPoint service now allows users to search for product information and/or purchase items from The Sharper Image. In addition, The Sharper Image is now a direct commerce partner, allowing registered BarPoint members to use the BarPoint multi-vendor shopping cart and electronic wallet to purchase Sharper Image items directly from their desktop PC or any mobile device such as an Internet-capable cell phone, interactive pager, or PDA.
The Sharper Image will also be part of BarPoint's recently announced "Mobile Merchant Marketplace" to be introduced toward the end of this quarter. In the vendor-branded Mobile Merchant Marketplace, customers will be able to use their Internet-enabled mobile device to browse through a Sharper Image "store," searching for products by the item's catalog number, UPC, or by a keyword. Products can then be purchased wirelessly directly from The Sharper Image using BarPoint's mobile wallet, or products can be saved to users' personalized gift and wish lists through My BarPoint services for later action.
