Changepoint to Support Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 With the Launch of a New Mobile Client

The Pocket PC client rounds out Changepoint's PSA mobility offering for enterprise users

Changepoint Corporation, a provider of Web-based business process automation solutions for technology services organizations, today announced that it will launch a new client leveraging Microsoft(R) Pocket PC 2002 software as part of its mobility offering.

The Changepoint Pocket PC, scheduled for general availability in the fourth quarter of 2001, will be a PDA-based disconnected client. Users will have options for wireless connectivity and remote synchronization. The Changepoint Pocket PC client leverages XML technology to store data for offline use, as well as transfer data to and from the server. Changepoint is the first PSA vendor to support the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 platform. The product will be compatible with all Pocket PC devices, including versions from Compaq, Hewlett-Packard and Casio.

Mobile sales and services employees will be able to use the Changepoint Pocket PC client to access relevant resource and customer information, status tasks for better project management and capture time and expense information to ensure more timely and accurate invoicing.

This release will round out the company's mobility offering, which also includes the Changepoint Browser client, the second-generation Offline Browser client and the Palm(TM) client.

"Changepoint mobility strategy is based on three criteria - usability, performance and choice of clients," said Paul Lupinacci, Vice President, Customer and Product Management, Changepoint Corporation. "The mobility offerings are an integral part of our PSA solution. Changepoint's strategy includes platforms and devices that are robust and most frequently adopted by our customer base. Our goal is to deliver functionality that makes it easier for employees to do their jobs efficiently and ensures the timely capture of data that directly impacts a company's bottom line."
