Customers Cut the Wires for Broadband Internet Service

WinBook, MobileStar Team for Wireless Service

WinBook Corporation (www.winbook.com) and MobileStar Network Corporation (www.mobilestar.com) today announced a joint effort to mobilize Americans everywhere by offering broadband wireless access to their email, documents, presentations and the Internet.

Wi-Fi 802.11b enabled WinBook customers will now have the option of wireless access at any of the 650+ MobileStar public access locations (PALs) in airports, hotels, restaurants, business centers and select Starbucks coffeehouses nationwide.

The agreement includes co-marketing and cross-promotional activities, giving buyers of WinBook's wireless LAN cards the ability to activate MobileStar and receive a free trial of MobileStar wireless broadband Internet access. When the trial period expires, WinBook customers will have the option to subscribe to MobileStar and choose from an array of monthly service packages, ranging from a metered Internet use to unlimited monthly access.

"WinBook and MobileStar share a common strategy of providing corporate America with portability and rapid access to data," said Richard M. Mershad, WinBook president. "This partnership is a further demonstration of our commitment to deliver what today's professionals need to increase their productivity and stay competitive."

"MobileStar is making every effort to promote wireless broadband access in popular public areas," said Robert Kaiser, president and chief executive officer for MobileStar. "By offering our service in conjunction with a wireless LAN card purchase, WinBook is promoting its own culture of mobility and further defining itself as a portable technology company."

MobileStar utilizes the emerging industry standard Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN protocol to give mobile professionals wireless access to the Internet or their corporate intranet at near T-1 speeds in more than 650 locations across the country. The company plans to expand its footprint over the next two years to over 7,000 locations nationally, including additional retail locations, airports, hotels, conference centers, restaurants and coffeehouses.
