Intermec Technologies Corp. today introduced RoutePower(R) 32 version 4.0 at the International Baking Industry Exposition, held in Las Vegas Sept. 10-14.
Based on more than 20 years of successful installations in the Direct Store Delivery industry, RoutePower(R) 32 is a full-function application software program specifically written for route automation. Version 4.0 is designed to operate on Microsoft's Pocket PC and Windows CE operating systems and is optimized for Intermec's 700 Series computers.
Co-developed with Intermec partner Mobile Tech Solutions Inc., RoutePower 4.0, contains new features of particular interest to DSD companies. For example, version 4.0 contains support for the easy configuration of customer invoices, including the printing of retail prices, "random weight" products (example -- cheese and meat products), 4 decimal item pricing, the display of account-level, product-level history during sales and future ordering, and additional load inventory features including rolling ending inventory into the next day's load, automatically developing a route order from customer orders and supporting more than one loading of the truck during a day.
RoutePower 4.0 handles complex tasks in the background, such as inventory management, product pricing, taxes and communications, while presenting information to the user through a simple, easy-to-understand interface. The program also provides a complete solution for managing product in retail outlets, helping maximize inventory turns while keeping stock-outs to a minimum.
Complete route book information, including sales history, can be viewed on the same screen while entering sales and future orders. Account-level and product-level history is stored electronically and updated automatically, eliminating accounting and arithmetic errors.
RoutePower 32 version 4.0 can be configured to allow access to other Pocket PC applications while simultaneously running RoutePower. Extensive product and account information can be viewed in RoutePower while verifying the next scheduled stop on the calendar or jotting down important information in notes, all with a touch of the screen.
