Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and Outr.Net, a leading developer for the wireless Internet, announced today the launch of Overnight Apps™. Overnight Apps is a wireless application "starter kit" that gives businesses a quick, low-cost tool to assist in creating custom, real-time wireless applications -- reducing development time from between 60 and 90 days to just one day.
A registered member of the Motorola Application Global Network (MAGNET) program, Outr.Net created Overnight Apps by identifying the components that are both custom and standard to enterprise applications then refining them to produce a set of building blocks. Enterprises can use these "blocks" to build applications in 24 hours or less that are exclusive to their business needs and can even be tailored to vertical markets, such as the medical and sales industries. Many of these applications are designed to streamline processes in the field such as responding to customer service calls, retrieving medical records and processing orders.

In addition, Outr.Net plans to port the Overnight Apps solution to the Motorola Accompli™ 009 personal communicator, which will be available in October 2001.
