Novatel Wireless Honored by Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50

Novatel Wireless Ranked Number Two in Deloitte & Touche's 2001 Technology Fast 50

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq:NVTL), a provider of wireless data access solutions, was ranked number two in Deloitte & Touche's 2001 Technology Fast 50 Awards for Orange County and San Diego. The Fast 50 is a regional ranking, based on percentage revenue growth, of the fastest-growing technology companies in 29 regions in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Israel, Australia, and the Netherlands.

"We are very pleased to receive this distinction from Deloitte & Touche," said John Major, CEO of Novatel Wireless. "This success was possible because of the efforts of a highly dedicated and motivated team in San Diego with continuing support from our team in Calgary, Canada."

Novatel Wireless was selected based on the percentage of growth in revenues from 1996 to 2000 (five-year period). To be eligible for the Technology Fast 50 a company must develop proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues, manufacture a technology-related product, or devote a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology. Award winning companies must be able to show 1996 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD ($75,000 CD) and 2000 revenues of at least $1 million (USD and CD) and be in business a minimum of five years.
