Plazmic enables Walt Disney Internet Group Japan to launch enhanced rich mobile media service on i-mode network

Enhanced Disney-i content run on Plazmic Media Engine(tm) elevates the mobile customer experience to one that has never been seen before

Plazmic today announced that Walt Disney Internet Group Japan has launched an enhanced rich mobile media entertainment service on NTT DoCoMo's i-mode network using Plazmic's Mobile Media Platform. Disney-i customers can access a graphically enhanced, interactive and animated version of the entertainment service, "Magical Fortune" using Plazmic Media Engine, an interactive wireless media player based on Java(tm) technology.

Magical Fortune is a horoscope service that allows mobile customers to enter birth date information and be matched to one of nine popular Disney characters including a short character analysis. Customers can subscribe to the Disney-i service to receive a daily fortune on their mobile device based on their Disney character type.

"We are extremely pleased to be working with Plazmic to deliver a richer and more compelling content experience for our Disney-i subscribers," says Birathon Kasemsri, Vice President, Walt Disney Internet Group Japan. "We are proud of the success we have achieved with the Magical Fortune service and know that elevating the Disney-i experience by incorporating new levels of animation and dynamic graphics creates exciting new ways of reaching and continuing to please our customers. Plazmic's Mobile Media Platform provides us with a unique and powerful mechanism for enhancing the entertainment experience and it is important in helping us maintain a leading position in wireless content services."

Plazmic Media Engine allows mobile customers to view and interact with rich dynamic graphics and animation on wireless devices with memory footprints as small as 10KB. The Plazmic-powered rich mobile media service enables Walt Disney Internet Group Japan to deliver a more engaging mobile experience over today's wireless networks.

"We are thrilled to help Walt Disney Internet Group Japan enable the delivery of compelling entertainment services that will enhance the enjoyment of Disney-i subscribers," said Keith Bates, Chief Executive Officer, Plazmic Inc. "The deployment of Plazmic Media Engine on Disney-i is a milestone and great complement to the capabilities of our Mobile Media Platform. Walt Disney Internet Group Japan has historically been an innovator and leader in creating entertaining services and this clearly demonstrates their leadership position in mobile content."

Plazmic Media Engine enables leading wireless content providers like Walt Disney Internet Group Japan to connect with subscribers on 2G and 3G networks using rich graphics, animation and interactivity. Richly animated wireless content run on Plazmic Media Engine helps customers graphically extend brand, build compelling new wireless services and create engaging experiences for their subscribers.

"Customers demand exciting wireless experiences," added Jay Steele, President and Chief Technology Officer, Plazmic Inc. "Plazmic's Mobile Media Platform is built on Java and industry-standard XML-based graphics technologies, making it easy for Walt Disney Internet Group Japan to rapidly create and deploy dynamic rich media entertainment services for their customers."
