Infowave Software (TSE:IW.), a global provider of software that connects enterprise applications to wireless devices, today announced St. Clair Hospital, a general and acute care hospital serving 300,000 residents of 20 communities in the Western Pennsylvania area, has selected Infowave's Wireless Business Engine for real-time, wireless communication between physicians, hospitals and care givers.
Using Infowave's wireless software, physicians can send and receive information via wireless devices, providing timely information about patient care, and transmit electronic signatures. By leveraging wireless technology, St. Clair Hospital will streamline and reduce the time physicians' spend managing paperwork, allowing them to be more responsive to patients, securely review and sign medical documents and assess a patient's clinical information on their hand-held wireless device.

We found other vendors that had an expertise on Palm OS or an emphasis on the RIM devices, but we wanted a single package that could handle all of the devices we use today and future ones as well.
