Action Engine and Saltmine today announce a strategic partnership to further expedite development and integration of custom applications for the Action Engine Mobile Services Framework(TM).
Designed to meet the specific needs of wireless carriers, OEMs and enterprise customers, the Mobile Services Framework enables any Action Engine licensee to mobilize data, plus deploy and update applications across leading operating systems and mobile devices.
Under terms of the deal, Saltmine will develop and deploy tailored enterprise applications that operate on the Action Engine framework. These applications will range from CRM and financial services tools to any number of enterprise-specific offerings. Utilizing the Action Engine framework, Saltmine will be able to rapidly deploy enterprise applications that are easy to use, optimize the usage of wireless networks and capitalize on the capabilities of smart devices.

Building on the Action Engine Mobile Services Framework, Saltmine will design and develop applications that work across a wide variety of mobile devices using various Internet connections and speeds. Action Engine has developed client-side software that operates on Pocket PC 2002, Windows CE, Palm OS, Windows 98/2000, Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. Action Engine will soon unveil RIM and J2ME clients as well.
