AvantGo(R), Inc., (Nasdaq:AVGO), the leading provider of mobile infrastructure software and services, today announced that its AvantGo Client software is integrated into the new version of Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer (Pocket IE), a key application in the Windows Powered Pocket PC 2002 platform. As part of PocketIE, AvantGo software is now available to enterprises and individuals accessing mobile applications on Pocket PCs from Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Casio and Symbol Technologies.
Using AvantGo software, more than 2,500 companies in over 50 countries are extending business-critical applications, including sales force automation, supply chain and customer relationship management solutions, to mobile devices. Additionally, more than 1500 major media brands are delivering interactive and personalized content and applications to mobile devices using the AvantGo Client integrated into Pocket IE with the AvantGo mobile Internet service.
A Pocket PC device with AvantGo software provides an easy way to access and communicate critical information -- anytime, anywhere. They can also use the device with AvantGo software to access interactive, personalized applications and content, including news and travel information, stock portfolios, movie listings, restaurant review and more from brand-name providers.
