AXCESS Inc. Announces Mobile Wireless Security Video Capability

Streaming Video Delivered To Handheld Devices For Increased Security Effectiveness

AXCESS Inc. (Nasdaq:AXSI), a leading provider of network-based security and IT asset productivity solutions, announced today a software product that enables security video to be sent over wireless networks and viewed on handheld pocket PCs.

The viewer application displays live, high performance streaming video of security situations in progress. It also searches and plays back recorded video of security events and is designed to increase the effectiveness of security operations by providing mobile visibility into security breaches.

The capability uses the 802.11b standard network backbone for wireless communications within a facility. The software works in conjunction with the Prism Video(TM) LANconnect-S video appliance that places industry standard, compressed video directly onto a network. The LANconnect-S can capture video at a remote security camera site or at the security central station console for delivery to the wireless handheld device. The viewer software includes numerous security-specific features designed to give the user great flexibility into viewing the video. The system is being displayed next week at the 47th Annual American Society of Industrial Security Convention in San Antonio from October 1-3, in booth No. 4265.

"This capability was developed in direct response to the need to extend the availability of security video to an increasingly mobile and geographically dispersed security staff," stated AXCESS Vice President, Tim Simerly. "We feel security systems today need to add efficiencies in the use of CCTV video, be able to increase the productivity of the security staff, and add to the effectiveness of the overall security operation. We believe we have done that here."
