Catamount Software Announces Release of PocketMoney 2.6

PocketMoney Offers Seamless Eurodollar Conversion, Adds Support for HandEra 330

Catamount Software announces today the release of PocketMoney 2.6, a financial application for Palm Powered(TM) handheld computers that allows its users to track income and expenses. The new features to version 2.6 include conversion to the EU's Eurodollar, support for the HandEra 330's higher resolution and screen rotation feature and the ability to customize reports over multiple accounts.

Because of PocketMoney's strong following in Europe, version 2.6 includes conversion from a European country's native currency to the Eurodollar. This conversion is mandatory for all countries in the European Union by the end of this year, Great Britain notwithstanding. PocketMoney is available in seven different languages, which will cover nearly all of the countries in the European Union.

"In today's volatile financial environment, it is increasingly important to have instant access to your financial information," said Hardy Macia, Catamount's president. "Our new customizable reporting system is an excellent tool to allow our users to view specific pieces of their finances over several accounts."

PocketMoney 2.6 is designed to take advantage of the special features of the HandEra 330, including its higher resolution (320 x 240 versus 160 x 160 on other Palm OS devices) and first-of-its-kind rotating screen view, as well as its faster processor. With the HandEra 330's enhanced resolution and screen rotation capabilities, users will be able to view data text in their PocketMoney application.

PocketMoney's intuitive interface is designed to emulate a checkbook electronically. Users can create an unlimited number of accounts, which can be classified as Bank, Credit Card, Asset and Liability accounts. Users can quickly and easily enter information and locate specific entries such as withdrawals, deposits and transfers.

A single transaction can be split into multiple transactions for reporting purposes, or it can merge individual transactions into a single entry. PocketMoney also provides users with a number of reporting options such as category and payee reports. Version 2.6 now offers customizable reports that can be queried across multiple accounts.

The program provides users with the ability to protect the financial information stored in PocketMoney with a four-character password. For additional security on the device, Catamount develops Autolock, which provides additional security for all programs loaded on the device.

Though a robust application in its own right, PocketMoney also interfaces with desktop applications using the Quicken Interchange Format (QIF) such as Microsoft Money and Quicken. The records maintained in both PocketMoney and the desktop applications are synchronized during a simple intermediate process.

PocketMoney retails for US$30, and current users can upgrade for free and is available at Catamount.com and all leading online merchants of Palm OS or Pocket PC software.
