Moneris Solutions and Wildcard Wireless Provide Secure Mobile Payment Technology for Door-To-Door Sales Transactions

Domino's Pizza and Motorola Canada Pilot Solution Coast-to-Coast

Moneris Solutions Corp., the largest Canadian merchant processing technology company and Wildcard Wireless Solutions Inc. (CDNX:WDC.), a Canadian wireless solution provider announced today that they have entered into a Letter of Intent to form a strategic alliance for deploying and testing Wildcard's TransAKT(TM) Wireless Point-of-Sale (WPOS) terminal.

Under the agreement, Moneris will support the certification of Wildcard's wireless payment terminal and will provide payment-processing services. A pilot program is being implemented in several Canadian cities with Domino's Pizza and Motorola Canada.

"Moneris Solutions is excited about working in partnership with Wildcard Wireless," said David Brooks, Senior Manager Point-of-Sale Development, Moneris Solutions. "Mobile businesses can now benefit from a cost-effective payment solution that brings the POS transaction directly to the customer. And, with its compact, lightweight design, and mobility, our partnership with Wildcard makes POS transactions convenient and easy to use in today's mobile marketplace. The gap between wired and wireless POS accessibility has narrowed, and we will continue to strive to meet the growing needs of consumers and mobile merchants alike."

"We are delighted to have Moneris Solutions as a business partner," said Dan Pomerleau, President, Wildcard Wireless. "Moneris' reputation as a leading provider of technologically advanced credit and debit card POS solutions complements our primary goal of providing businesses with secure wireless payment and communications solutions. Together, Wildcard and Moneris support the concept of adding value for merchants and customers, by increasing payment functionality and flexibility."

Upon completion of the certification phase, Moneris will establish individual merchant accounts for Domino's test outlets and will monitor the activities of individual Wildcard TransAKT(TM) terminals on the Moneris system. In addition, Wildcard and Moneris will consult on the development of WPOS application software for the door-to-door, mobile delivery market.

The Wildcard TransAKT(TM) wireless terminal is an integrated PIN Pad secured POS device that attaches to a cellular phone without impacting its normal operation. TransAKT(TM)'s first release is designed to work with Motorola's StarTAC(R) and Timeport(TM) family of CDMA mode phones and is capable of supporting multiple wireless transaction applications including credit, debit, smart card, check authorization transactions, loyalty program cards, Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT), phone cards and other electronically submitted transactions.

"By having our terminal certified through Moneris, we become a wireless payment option for a wide range of merchants already utilizing Moneris' electronic transaction processing solutions," remarked Peter MacLean, Senior Vice President, Wildcard. "We look forward to working closely with Moneris as we introduce our wireless POS solutions to the commercial market this fall."

Wildcard and Moneris will undertake the pilot program with Mad Pizza Company Inc. (Mad Pizza), a major international Domino's Pizza franchisee that operates 40 Domino's stores in Canada and 18 stores in the US. Brian Dobb, Mad Pizza's President remarked, "We are extremely pleased to be partnering with two leaders in the secure electronic transaction industry. We believe Wildcard's wireless payment solution is exactly what the mobile merchant has been looking for. We anticipate immediate productivity gains through the acceptance of credit and PIN secured debit cards in the field, and future benefits by extending our loyalty and brand awareness programs right to the customer's doorstep."
