Novatel Wireless to Offer Wireless Connectivity Solutions for Pocket PC 2002

Minstrel(R) and Merlin(TM) Product Lines to be Compatible With Microsoft Windows-Powered Pocket PC 2002 Software

Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq:NVTL), a provider of wireless data access solutions, today announced that the Minstrel(R) and Merlin(TM) product lines will be compatible with the new Microsoft Windows-Powered Pocket PC 2002 Software. Pocket PC 2002 combined with Novatel Wireless' Merlin and Minstrel Family of Wireless Modems will deliver new functionality targeted to business users and corporations interested in deploying secure, reliable and robust mobile solutions.

The Minstrel(R) Family of Wireless Handheld Modems and Merlin(TM) Family of Wireless PC Card Modems, enable wireless access to the Internet, email, and corporate LANs as well as provide enabling technology for vertical applications such as POS, ATM, AVL, Telemetry and other applications requiring wide-area networking. All of these products are based on CDPD, GSM/GPRS or CDMA 2000 wireless WAN networks that provide secure data communications at 19.2 kbps, 53.6 kbps and 144 kbps respectively.
