SAGEM and In-Fusio: play with your mobile !

SAGEM announces the integration of the ExEn® download gaming engine into its 3000 mobile phones series. SAGEM is the first French manufacturer to use this innovative technology which allows the users to download real video games onto their mobile phone.

Thanks to ExEn, the users simply choose the game they wish to play from a games catalogue on their SAGEM mobile phone menu and download it onto their mobile from a games server.

When the players have explored all tricks and traps of a game, they can as simply download another one instead. Once downloaded, users play off-line. Thus, the mobile phone becomes a constantly evolving entertainment device.

This new downloading possibility enlarges the extensive customisation choice already available on the SAGEM series.

ExEn is the first downloading programme entirely dedicated to games for mobile phones. It has been developed by the mobile games publisher In-Fusio on the basis of the Java™ standard development language, and is integrated during the manufacturing phase.

"ExEn takes only very little space in the mobile phone’s memory and reaches a performance level 10 times superior to a generalist virtual machine", says Thomas Landspurg, In-Fusio’s Research and Development Vice-President.

While playing, In-Fusio’s technology allows the users to connect temporarily via SMS in order to participate in competitions, receive best scores and unlock other levels. The games are interactive: users are not continuously connected, as for WAP games. In the middle of a game, they can question the games master and go for a new challenge when they are informed of their competitors’ results.

The SAGEM mobile phones equipped with this connected games technology will be released on the European market before the end of October.
