Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communications services, today announced that it has been selected by DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd. (DiGi), Malaysia's leading GSM 1800 mobile network service provider, to provide its unified messaging solution.

Comverse's unified messaging solution implements an IP-based distributed architecture and provides an open interface to integrate with any email server. The scalable system enhances DiGi's existing network and forms the core of the new infrastructure, enabling DiGi to offer a variety of enhanced services to their subscribers, such as "one-stop" access to all their messages from any mobile terminal, email notification services, email on the phone services and more.

"Continuous enhancement is key to attracting and retaining customers. Comverse's IP-based unified messaging service is an ideal solution that fully complements our existing network. It provides us the ability to offer our customers advanced messaging capabilities, thus giving us a competitive edge," said Mr. Jeff Chong, Deputy General Manager (Marketing) of DiGi. "Carrier-grade service, flexibility and scalability are also our major considerations. We found Comverse's unified messaging solution an excellent platform for deployment of new services and features."

Zeev Bregman, Chief Executive Officer of Comverse stated, "We believe that unified messaging has the potential to be a killer application of 2.5G and 3G networks. We are honored that DiGi, one of the fastest growing mobile operators in Malaysia, selected Comverse. To stay competitive and to be ready for the growth opportunities in the market, DiGi needed a system that could meet their expanding business requirements - in terms of both performance and growth. Our unified messaging solution meets DiGi's current and future needs."
