Pumatech, Inc. (NASDAQ: PUMA), a leading provider of enterprise-level software products and services that deliver highly relevant information wherever and whenever it's needed, today announced that Eastman Kodak Company has selected Enterprise Intellisync(TM) software as its corporate synchronization standard. This licensing deal with Pumatech is enabling approximately 1500 Kodak employees to synchronize personal contacts, calendar information and e-mail between Palm OS(R) handhelds and the company's Lotus Notes groupware system. In addition, Kodak is evaluating the use of Enterprise Intellisync's management console to configure and deploy copies of Intellisync(R) software to desktops throughout its locations - a capability that, in Kodak's opinion, should help lower the total cost of ownership for its handheld assets.
Pumatech's Intellisync synchronization engine is the de facto standard among Fortune 1000 companies due to its ability to flawlessly keep important personal and corporate information such as calendar, contacts and e-mail updated across the enterprise and accessible via mobile devices. With the number of handheld devices in use at Kodak growing incrementally, the company turned to Pumatech and the Enterprise Intellisync offering to provide a means of quickly and effectively connecting these devices to the company's Lotus Notes-based groupware system.

Kodak selected Enterprise Intellisync over alternative solutions because of its broad device support and its centralized administrator console for quickly configuring, deploying and troubleshooting Intellisync. Enterprise Intellisync has the potential to reduce the support costs of handheld devices by eliminating the need for IT personnel to individually visit each PC to perform various administrative tasks. In addition, Enterprise Intellisync increases security across the enterprise by allowing IT managers to set password protection and prevent unauthorized handheld devices from synchronizing certain types of data. Finally, Enterprise Intellisync offers corporations a flexible solution by enabling IT managers to configure settings and synchronization options according to the needs of individuals or groups.
