November 29, 2001

New Version of Legendary BugMe! "Sticky Note" Application Allows Users to View and Select Multiple Notes On a Single Screen and Supports Pocket PC 2002

Today, Electric Pocket Limited released an enhanced version of BugMe! for users of handheld devices based on Microsoft Corp.'s Pocket PC platform. BugMe! Pocket PC version 2.0 also supports Pocket PC 2002, the latest version of the Pocket PC operating system.

BugMe! for Pocket PC allows users to jot freehand notes, sketches and diagrams directly on the screens of their handheld devices and even record brief voice recordings that will automatically replay at a time set by the user. In the new version, notes can also be in the form of typed text that can be revised by tapping on a special icon and using the on-screen keyboard or the Transcriber handwriting recognition technology built into Pocket PC handhelds.

Further enhancements made to BugMe! Pocket PC 2.0 include the ability to title and timestamp notes, giving users greater ability to organize and locate their notes as needed, and the ability to view their notes in a list or in two different "thumbnail" views: list or matrix. In list view, up to 19 notes are listed by title. The thumbnail list view shows a list of three notes along with titles, body texts and alarm times. The thumbnail matrix view shows up to nine notes in thumbnail form and can be edited by simply tapping on each notes' thumbnail icons.

"It was really no surprise to us that BugMe! has been as successful as it has on the Pocket PC platform," said Iain Barclay, Electric Pocket's co-founder and chief products officer. "For the same reasons that Palm Powered device users have found BugMe! to be an essential application -- solving the same problems experienced by people living very hectic lifestyles -- Pocket PC users have become a very enthusiastic customer base for us. We value those users and are happy to bring them the same level of functionality that users of Palm OS handhelds have enjoyed for years."

BugMe! has been one of the most widely downloaded applications for handheld computers since it was first released in 1997. With BugMe!, handheld computer users can take notes and capture information without having to learn the special characters used in handheld devices. Because BugMe! is so practical and easy to use, it is often cited as one of the most essential third-party applications for handhelds.

BugMe! for Pocket PC retails for $19.95. For more information, visit www.bugme.net.
