Mexico's Mobile Phone Operator Selects Speedwise To Deliver Fast Wireless Web Browsing

Grupo Iusacell SA de C.V (NYSE: CEL; BMV: CEL), a mobile phone operator in Mexico, has selected Speedwise, Inc. to deliver accelerated Internet browsing to its customers at speeds of up to six times faster than normal.

Using Speedwise Accellence(TM), a server-based software platform, Iusacell will deploy full and accelerated Internet-over-wireless services to mobile device users. Subscribers can access the entire Web - full graphics as well as text - from their laptops, handheld PCs, PDAs and SmartPhones - without any additional software or hardware installation. Grupo Iusacell will install Accellence on its second generation CSD network, which currently offers speeds of 14.4kbps.

"By offering accelerated wireless Web browsing to our customers, we hope to further strengthen our leadership position in Mexico by delivering superior Internet performance," said Peter H. Burrowes, President and Director of Iusacell. "Speedwise Accellence's scalability and client-free aspects will help us to deploy our mobile Internet services easily and rapidly to our subscriber base as well as throughout Mexico."

Accellence allows Iusacell to maximize its investment in existing wireless networks by delivering next generation services over second-generation infrastructure. Through a combination of patent-pending technologies and advanced HTTP session management, the number of data packets transmitted is dramatically reduced, and real-time Internet content is delivered faster and smarter. Accellence is fully standard-compliant and achieves acceleration by improved management of all network layers from TCP upwards.

"Grupo Iusacell's decision to implement our Accellence product immediately validates our efforts in the North and South American markets," said Moshe Sheps, president, Speedwise, Inc. "By winning the confidence of the second largest wireless carrier in Mexico, we are moving strongly ahead to bring the speed and ease of use of Accellence to wireless carriers and users across the region."
