Silicon Wave Selected by Microsoft as a Windows CE .NET

Silicon Wave Inc., a leading designer and provider of RF communication system components and software, today announced that it has been selected by Microsoft as a supplier of Bluetooth solutions for its Windows CE .NET operating system.

Silicon Wave will work with Microsoft to offer Bluetooth wireless connectivity to the rapidly growing Windows CE industry. OEMs will now be able to produce PDAs, mobile phones and cable set-top boxes that incorporate Bluetooth functionality and interoperate seamlessly on the Windows CE .NET platform.

Microsoft and Silicon Wave are enabling effortless integration of Bluetooth wireless connectivity for the Windows CE .NET platform. OEMs will benefit from stable, certified Bluetooth stack support and high performance interconnectivity for PDA, mobile phone, auto and cable set-top box applications. This new offering of Windows CE will allow enterprise users to utilize these applications to surf the web, check email, and even buy an electronic book or magazine via a Bluetooth kiosk.
