SSH Communications Security Announces Immediate Availability of SSH Secure Shell for Handhelds

November 20, 2001

SSH Communications Security (HEX:SSHV1), a world-leading developer of Internet security solutions, today announced the immediate availability of SSH Secure Shell for Handhelds, the industry's first Secure Shell application for wireless platforms which was announced earlier this year. This Secure Shell product, based on the widely accepted SymbianOS operating system for wireless communications, is the first security application to protect IP-based communication over wireless devices, such as e-mail and terminal emulation.

"We are extremely pleased to deliver SSH Secure Shell, the industry leading application for secure remote login and data transfer in wireless devices," said Tatu Ylonen, CEO and founder of SSH Corp. "We are excited to bring this much needed security solution to mobile and handheld devices such as mobile phones and PDAs."

SSH Secure Shell for Handhelds runs secure terminal emulation for remote system administration and port forwarding for remote access. SSH Secure Shell for Handhelds is the result of a strategic partnership between SSH and Symbian, the leading software platform provider for Wireless Information Devices. SSH Secure Shell for Handhelds currently works with the European Nokia 9210 Communicator and is expected to be compatible with the U.S. version -- the Nokia 9290 Communicator -- in 1H 2002.
