Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ:ZBRA), the worldwide leader in bar code printing, today introduced the rugged new QL 320 mobile printer with QuickLink radio modules for versatile networking connectivity. Designed for indoor/outdoor medium-volume printing, the QL 320 is ideal for retail, manufacturing, health care, shipping and distribution, route accounting, asset tracking, ticketing and hospitality applications.

The QL 320 offers the widest range of communications options in the industry, from cable-ready to wireless networking. With an easily interchangeable QuickLink radio module, the printer can be configured for SRRF, Bluetooth, IRDA and 802.11b wireless LAN connectivity.

"The QL 320 compliments our very successful Encore, Cameo and PA/PT mobile printing families by adding versatile networking options with feature-rich operation," said Zebra director of marketing for mobile printers Bob Danahy. "With the easy-to-install QuickLink modules, qualified Zebra business partners can provide custom integration of wireless connectivity options in minutes. The QL 320's modular design simplifies the process of dealing with multiple configurations. At the same time, it offers end users investment protection as the printers can be upgraded easily to accommodate future developments in wireless connectivity. Most importantly to our customers, the QL 320 is the most rugged and feature-rich mobile printer on the market today."

The QL 320 printer offers a wealth of features and options that make it the ideal choice for customers in a wide range of markets. Designed with a focus on ruggedness and ease of use, the QL 320 features center-loading media, print speeds of up to four inches per second, and an optional LCD panel.

Users will find additional convenience in the long-lasting lithium-ion battery with smart battery monitoring. Weighing less than 1.6 lbs. with a rubber-infused plastic over-mold design, the QL 320 withstands harsh conditions without the need for a separate case.

Its proven, rugged design withstands multiple drops to concrete from five feet, providing extreme durability both in the warehouse and on the dock.

"In addition to its durable engineering, the QL 320 offers a unique `one-touch peeler' that is easily engaged in a single motion to peel and present labels automatically," said Danahy. "Our solution is the easiest to use in the industry, enabling employees to work more efficiently without hassle."

Zebra's new QL 320 will be demonstrated in Zebra Technologies Corporation's booth number 442 at Frontline Expo 2001 (Lakeside Center, McCormick Place, Chicago, Ill.) on November 13-15.

Zebra Technologies Corporation (Vernon Hills, Ill.) manufactures and distributes Zebra(R)-brand on-demand thermal bar code label and receipt printers and Eltron(R)-brand secure ID and plastic card printing systems used in automatic identification and card personalization applications worldwide.

The company, with an installed base of more than two million printers, also offers software and related supplies, including more than 1,000 label and ribbon combinations. Zebra's customers include more than 75 percent of the FORTUNE 500.
