Add2Phone: Salvation Army Christmas Donation Campaign Boosted by SMS-Based Recruitment Service

The Salvation Army in Finland launched its annual Christmas Donation campaign on the Internet for the fourth consecutive year. This year the Campaign utilizes text messaging (SMS) for the first time in a unique way. People who take part in the Campaign receive a goodwill message to their mobile phones, and that message can be forwarded via SMS to their friends and colleagues. The online campaign has been created by Ego Taivas agency and SMS technology has been provided by Add2Phone Ltd, the leading mobile marketing and m-commerce technology company.

The Christmas Campaign is a joint charity effort from a number of media partners, including leading Finnish media companies and commercial TV channels. Add2Phone as their involvement in the Campaign provides the SMS service that is promoted in print and television. A highly innovative approach for mobile service marketing is done together with TV channel Nelonen, who is providing media in their popular interactive TV Chat show for promoting the SMS service.
