Award Recognizes Comverse's Market Leading Unified Messaging Solution

Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communications services, and strategic market research and training firm Frost & Sullivan, today announced that Frost & Sullivan has given its Market Engineering Leadership Award to Comverse for its unified messaging platform.

"We are flattered to be the recipient of Frost & Sullivan's Market Engineering Leadership Award. We believe the unified messaging market is poised to realize its high potential, as it provides an exciting and productive user experience which seamlessly converges high-demand telecom and Internet services," said Zeev Bregman, Chief Executive Officer of Comverse. "Operators, enterprises, and end-users around the world want unified messaging capabilities today. As Frost & Sullivan's award confirms, Comverse's unified messaging solution provides network operators with a powerful differentiator in a crowded market."

Frost & Sullivan estimates that Comverse has the leading market share in the network-based unified messaging segment and named Comverse as its Market Engineering Leadership recipient in a new market report published recently entitled "North American Unified Messaging Markets."

In choosing the recipient of the award, Frost & Sullivan analysts tracked manufacturers revenue and market share within the industry. The analysts performed interviews with market participants and extensive secondary research of proprietary data sources. Frost & Sullivan then ranked competitors according to relative position.

"Comverse has effectively identified and met the challenges facing the unified messaging platform vendors," said Ronald Gruia, Program Leader for San Jose, California based Frost & Sullivan. "Some of the factors instrumental in putting Comverse at the forefront of the market include its portfolio depth, wireless technology leadership, other technology enhancements bolstering scalability, reliability and security, a strong marketing program, and a product roadmap addressing key future opportunities in the service provider UM space."

Comverse's unified messaging solution enables subscribers to access, manage, compose, reply to, and forward voice, fax and email messages via a single mailbox, which they can access from the device of their choice (including cell or wireline phones, PDAs, and PCs). Unified messaging technology enables cross-media messaging - for example, subscribers can listen to emails on their mobile handsets, reply to emails with voice messages, print emails as faxes, listen to or read voicemail messages on their PCs and much more. Comverse's unified messaging solution fully supports both IP and circuit switched networks. Comverse also offers a variety of services that fully integrate with unified messaging, including call management services (such as call answering with one-touch call return), SMS, multimedia messaging (MMS), wireless instant messaging, wireless data and Internet-based services, voice-controlled dialing, messaging and browsing, and prepaid wireless services.

In addition to its strong position in the North American market, Comverse's unified messaging solution has had significant success in the European market, where a substantial number of leading service providers have already selected Comverse's unified messaging solution.
