Extended Systems (Nasdaq:XTND), a leading provider of mobile data management and wireless connectivity solutions, announced today that the company's XTNDConnect Server data synchronization and management software now supports the Nokia 9210 Communicator.

Based on the recently released Symbian OS (operating system) version 6.0, the Nokia 9210 Communicator is an integrated smart phone and PDA (personal digital assistant). The device has already had an immediate impact on the PDA market in Western Europe outpacing sales of competing PDA products. Company officials say today's announcement demonstrates Extended Systems' ability and continued commitment to support a complete range of popular handheld devices and device technologies in strategic geographical locations throughout the world.

"Extended Systems continues to enhance mobile communications over a broad range of products in key market locations, specifically in Europe where we hold a strong market position," said Don Baumgartner, vice president of worldwide marketing for Extended Systems. "By utilizing XTNDConnect Server, the Nokia 9210 Communicator user experience is enhanced by allowing access to current enterprise information, including corporate e-mail and other critical data. Additionally, this support simplifies requirements for IT Managers who can now use XTNDConnect Server to support an even broader range of mobile devices in the enterprise."

"As the Symbian OS continues to build market leadership as the advanced, open, standard operating system for data-enabled mobile phones, it is important that companies such as Extended Systems offer software solutions that significantly increase the value of the deployment of Symbian OS devices for large corporate customers," said Timo Bruns, strategic product manager for Symbian.
