Filanet's InterJak allows US Wireless Online to remotely manage and deliver services to their wireless broadband network customers

Today, Filanet, a leading provider of innovative and integrated platforms and services for small and remote office networking and US Wireless Online, a leading fixed wireless broadband provider, announced a partnership to bring wireless networking services to small and medium businesses. US Wireless Online will deploy Filanet's 802.11b-equipped InterJak Internet service appliance to connect their customers to the Internet and deliver critical networking services with secure broadband wireless access.

"High speed wireless Internet connections not only provide secure network access at speeds greater than DSL, but they bring businesses flexibility and power that would otherwise be unavailable," said L. Douglas Keeney, US Wireless Online's CEO. "We chose to use the Filanet InterJak to deliver wireless access and network services because it is simply the easiest to use and most powerful service appliance that we have come across. As business conditions narrow competitive alternatives for broadband, speed of installation and ability to monitor a customer's access point become increasingly important to metro-area network providers like us. InterJak is the only device that meet our standards on these two vital criteria."

Avner Ben-Dor, Filanet's Founder and CEO, adds, "US Wireless Online's success is a great example of the growing penetration of wireless networks, a trend we anticipated with the release of the 802.11b version of the InterJak Internet service appliance in September, 2001 and are pleased to support by providing the InterJak to US Wireless Online's growing customer base."

The InterJak Internet Service Appliance is a simple device which allows small and remote offices to easily connect to standards-based wireless WAN networks. Service providers, such as US Wireless Online, can quickly and easily set up managed, integrated LAN and WAN solutions for their small business customers using the InterJak platform to enhance operational efficiency while reducing costs. In addition to standard network services such as IP routing and network address translation, service providers can provide InterJak users with enhanced options such as VPNs, firewalls, content filtering, network monitoring, traffic shaping, and local email. The InterJak platform can be centrally managed using Filanet's Service Provisioning Portal (SPP) for bulk configuration and software updates.
