J2ME-based Go.Web will Allow the Enterprise to Access Critical Corporate Data on all Java-Enabled Devices

GoAmerica, Inc. (NASDAQ: GOAM) a provider of wireless data solutions today announced that it is developing its Go.Web(TM) service in Java and expects to be completed with its first version by Q1 2002. As part of the Company's expanded efforts in Java, GoAmerica acquired OutBack Resource Group of San Luis Obispo.

GoAmerica's Java initiatives are aimed at allowing corporate customers to benefit from Go.Web on Java-enabled devices, as they become commercially available. To strengthen its Java capabilities, GoAmerica acquired OutBack Resource Group, Inc., naming former OutBack President, Jim Mortensen as Director of Software Development. Founded in 1994, OutBack has received recognition for its expertise in wireless and Web-based technologies, having developed solutions for leading technology companies such as Intel, Motorola and Nortel Networks.

"Go.Web for Java is part of the natural evolution of the Go.Web product line. Multi-platform, multi-network support will continue to drive our development efforts in order to provide the seamless wireless services our customers have come to expect," said Jesse Odom, CTO of GoAmerica. "We welcome OutBack's talented team to GoAmerica."

The Java(TM) platform enables the same software to run on many different kinds of computing devices. The Yankee Group sees open platforms, such as J2ME, as critical to the development of wireless content and services and according to Cahners In-Stat, Java-enabled units will see significant growth starting in 2002, benefiting from the deployment of 3G technology.
