Nokia to Provide TETRA Solutions to Hong Kong Fire Services Department for Wireless Digital Network

Nokia and Singapore Engineering Software Pte Ltd (a subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited) have signed a contract for the supply of the Nokia TETRA solution for a Wireless Digital Network (WDN) for the Hong Kong Fire Services Department.

The contract covers the complete Nokia TETRA solution including digital switches, base stations, dispatcher equipment, network management system and terminals. WDN is the core system of Third Generation Mobilizing System (TGMS) of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department and a number of mission critical applications will be implemented via the WDN with the prime objective to cope with the increasing demand of fire fighting and rescue operations in Hong Kong.
